Speakers
We are excited to introduce all the speakers for our first online seminar — a group of inspiring young scientists and science communicators, each bringing a unique perspective on building a career in science.

Miguel López Molina
I graduated in Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid, where I am currently pursuing a Diploma in Social Communication, Science Communication, and Scientific Advising.
My professional goal is to act as a bridge between research institutions and society, helping to make scientific knowledge more accessible, since access to scientific knowledge and its benefits are universal rights.
Andreas Andreou
Synthetic biologist and biotech entrepreneur working at the intersection of SynBio, AI-driven drug discovery, and translational innovation.
Co-founder of Prozymi Biolabs and contributor to CellCodex, focused on building technologies that move beyond academia into real-world impact.

Rocío Vázquez Martínez
I am a first-year PhD researcher at the University of Zaragoza and Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragon, working on a novel breast cancer therapy based on magnetic hyperthermia. My research focuses on targeting iron oxide nanoparticles to cancer cell mitochondria and inducing localized heating through alternating magnetic fields.
Alongside my research, I share life in the lab on social media as “Mikrobio” and serve on the board of ASBAR, where I contribute to strategy, workshops, and scientific outreach activities.
IGEM Thessaloniki
iGEM Thessaloniki is an interdisciplinary student team from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and the first Greek team to compete in iGEM in 2017.
The common goal is using synthetic biology to address real-world challenges. Over the years, iGEM Thessaloniki has worked on a wide range of projects, from healthcare and diagnostics to environmental sustainability and biotechnology applications.
Beyond the scientific aspect, the team emphasizes social impact, responsible innovation, and science communication, making science more accessible, understandable, and connected to societal needs. Its interdisciplinary nature allows members to combine different perspectives and skills, creating a dynamic platform for scientific creativity, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

Neuroholics
The Neuroholics team is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising public awareness and education around neuroscience, including neurological and mental disorders, aiming to foster an understanding of the biological background of brain function and to communicate modern developments in the field.
Through initiatives such as school visits, workshops, and career orientation activities in health and life/natural sciences, the team seeks to bring young people into contact with the subject, show them firsthand what it is like to work as a neuroscientist, and promote scientific thinking, STEM education, and familiarity with related professions.
At the same time, it strengthens the connection between science and society, aiming to empower students, educators, and citizens to actively participate in matters of scientific interest.
